The Hydrostatic Pressure in Liquids module is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of hydrostatic pressure and its properties. With the Labtronic Hydrostatic Pressure apparatus, students can experimentally measure the center of pressure of the hydrostatic pressure force, providing them with a hands-on learning experience that is both engaging and informative.
The working principle of this module is based on moment balance around pivot, creating a real-world scenario that enables students to understand the fundamental principles of hydrostatic pressure. By filling the tank to a certain depth, a hydrostatic pressure force is generated on the vertical surface of the quadrant. Weights are gradually added to the hanger to balance the hydrostatic force, and using moment balance at the pivot, the experimental center of pressure can be determined and compared to the theoretical center of pressure. The device is equipped with a lever arm and weights to balance the force, enabling students to measure and record the force, moment accurately. The apparatus is designed to fit securely on the work surface of the hydraulic bench unit, ensuring easy and stable positioning for the experiment.
