The Labtronic horizontal flow tank trainer is an advanced tool for measuring the trajectory of a water jet. The trainer features a graduated transparent tank that is fitted with an orifice plate, which is located on the side of the tank. Additionally, an adjustable overflow pipe is fixed inside the tank to modify the water level, and a baffle can be set at the base of the tank to create a smooth flow. The trajectory of the water jet can be measured using vertical needles, a board, and a sheet of paper. The needles can be locked in place using a screw on the mounting bar and adjusted to follow the trajectory of the jet. The tops of the needles can be marked to plot the trajectory accurately.
The Labtronic trainer also features a drain plug in the base of the head tank, which enables easy drainage of the water after the experiment is complete.
Demonstrates discharge, velocity coefficient, and the relation between the head and velocity, the device allows to trace the path of the jet using some rods placed on the free surface of the jet.
